The setup

1. Install Ultimate Reddit Filter

Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons.

2. Paste the keyword preset

Keywords tab → paste:

Note: worldnews and europe are broad subreddits. Adding them removes all posts from those subs, not just Ukraine-related ones. Only add them if you want to remove those communities entirely.

4. Tune and reload

If you’re seeing too many false positives (posts about Ukraine’s pre-war culture, tourism, or politics you do want to see), remove the broader terms like ukraine news and ukraine update and keep only the conflict-specific terms.

If you want a broader filter covering all conflict news (not just Ukraine), add: war in, military offensive, missile strike, drone attack, civilian casualties.

What this won’t do

This filter hides matching posts from your visible feed. It doesn’t affect posts in subreddits you actively follow if those posts appear in the subreddit directly (rather than in r/all or your home feed), and it doesn’t work in the official Reddit iOS or Android app.
